Self Care Aspects and Practices
Self Care is essential to preserving our general health as it reduces stress and anxiety levels, and boost our resilience in the face of challenges in life.
Self Care is the regular practice of a multitude of mental, emotional and physical health activities and/or nonactivities that allows us to heal, nurture and grow with Self Love.
When we engage in activities that we enjoy, we are actually practicing Self Care and this will help reduce stress and improve our overall sense of well-being.
Self Care Givers take the time to prioritize our health and well-being by recognizing and responding to physical sensations and signs of emotional distress.
With preventative measures, we can mitigate stress and optimize outcomes.
Self Care can also help improve physical health as regular exercise, healthy eating, and getting enough sleep are all crucial aspects of Self Care that can help improve physical health and reduce the risk of chronic health conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
Additionally, Self Care activities such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices can help improve focus, concentration, and overall physical and mental well-being.
Another important aspect of Self Care is Self Compassion as this involves being kind and understanding towards our Selves and when things don't go as planned and being grateful for what we learned and gained from our experience.
When we take the time to really tune into our Self we can really know what area(s) require attention; sometimes we need rest and other times a boost.
Treat your Self with the same love and care that you would to a close friend or family member.
This can help reduce feelings of self-criticism and negative self-talk, which can contribute to mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Incorporating Self Care into our daily routine can be challenging, but it is worth the effort in order to optimize our full potential and then maintain it.
Self Care Givers provides many insights on ways to incorporate Self Care but it begins with you scheduling time for your Self and prioritizing your needs and completing a Self Care plan.
